About the model
This Legende clarinet is also the result of these developments in methodology and touts the same virtues as its high-end counterparts, including: metal-capped tenons, for an enduring union between upper and lower joints GreenLinE tone hole slots, ensuring an air-tight closure and flawless sound while eliminating the risk of cracking a low F correction key to enhance the sound in this characteristic scale. After many years reintroduces Buffet the ergonomic rings for a more comfortable and intuitive feel which we missed since the disappearence of the DG.(Le?gende exclusively) natural wood, specially selected and honed for a perfect resonance. The Le?gende will surprise players with its accurate pitch and immediate response. Its precise and centered tone, characteristic of this new bore concept, brings out a whole spectrum of sound, encompassing the brightest to softest of coloring. Its intuitive handling allows the musician the utmost freedom of musical and acoustical expression. Its precise and reliable play is ideal for clarinet players with very eclectic demands.

Lohff & Pfeiffer comments to the model
The Buffet Crampon Légende is a professional clarinet, inside the R13 family.
It is the luxury version of the Tradition. The sound is dark, focused and carrying. Like all smaller bore instruments, it has more resistance than older or instruments with a wider bore and therefore allows the use of a more open mouthpiece.

The bell of the Légende A clarinet has a similar narrow opening as the Tosca to improve the intonation and stability in the high register. This narrow bore causes the low F and E to be lower than usual. Therefore, an additional F correction key has been added. For players who wish an even sharper F or E, we can add an additional low E & F resonance mechanism. See Low E-F correction.

The Legend is available only in unstained, polished African Blackwood. To reduce the risk of cracking, the Legende has the 4 top tone holes lined in Greenline. Therefore, a Greenline version is not available/needed.

The Légende can be nicely combined with R13, R13 Prestige, Tradition, Vintage, Festival, and Tosca. The low F-correction helps to raise the pitch for the low F.

Additional Key features

3. The Tenons are provided with a metal tenon-ring for damage protection.
4. The C#/G# tone hole is raised for better intonation.
5. The shape of the ring-keys is concave, similar to the old DG model, to improve the ergonomic and to allow a better feel for the tone-hole.
